Jonathon Woss Trouble Continues
November 1, 2008
TV Presenter Jonathon Ross has dropped out of presenting the 2008 British Comedy Awards due to show on ITV in December.
This is following the Radio 2 controversy regarding prank calls to Andrew Sachs, Fawlty Towers actor.
Jonathon Ross has been suspended for 12 weeks from all BBC programmes as a result of the joke calls made on the Russell Brand Radio 2 show.
The British Comedy Awards are in their 18th year with Ross presenting for the last 16 years.
In my opinion the whole affair has been blown out of proportion. Jimmy Carr has joined me in this trail of thought also saying that Ross is a ‘national treasure’.
Jeremy Vine, fellow Radio 2 presenter said that Jonathon will find coming back from his suspension difficult and went onto say:
“It will be interesting to see how he manages given the damage to this radio station, I’m going to be interested to see that - I’m not quite sure how it’s going to work.”
The whole thing has gone crazy, with many people who didn’t even listen to the show complaining! Russell Brands comedy is a bit risqué and Jonathon was a part of his show. Andrew Sachs has accepted both presenter’s apologies and I think it is about time the UK did the same.
